Research History 2007 - 2008 Engaged in research on Systemic Functional Linguistics and the use of authentic English language materials, especially how the teacher needs to appropriately broker the materials to the context of Japan.

2008 - 2010 Engaged in research on Complex Systems and Applied Linguistics.

2011 - 2013 Engaged in the study of research methods; especially qualitative enquiry in the context of Japan.

2013 - I am engaged in the research on the introduction of communicative language teaching (CLT) in East Asia. With a focus on Japanese universities, I am engaged in assessing the beliefs and attitudes about CLT by Japanese teaching staff.
