Introduction

The Department of Applied Biological Science is ahead of the rest of the country in integrating fields that cross over the various sectors of biological science, and cultivates human resources who have learned biological science for clarifying life phenomena over various levels, from microorganisms to higher organisms, as well as applied techniques that serve as the foundation for this biological science.

  • First-year students learn about the specialized foundation of biosciences in a systematic manner.
  • Second-year students participate in lectures, discussions and labs related to subjects that serve as the core of life sciences, and biotechnology, which is helpful in conservation of the global environment as well as medical care and production of useful substances.
  • Third-year students can select a broad array of specialized subjects and special lectures that value the motivation and independence of the student.
  • Fourth-year students are required to participate in graduation research, and pursue a specialized theme through active discussions with graduate students under the guidance of their research group faculty member.
