The purpose of the Department of Pharmacy is to cultivate advanced pharmacists (medical practitioners) who are full of humanity and have a thirst for research, and who can contribute to advancing healthcare based on the principle of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of "protecting the health of human beings through molecular medicine."

  • Acquire broad knowledge relating to pharmaceutical sciences, from basic studies such as biochemistry and pharmacology, to specialized studies such as genome science.
  • Acquire pharmacoinformatics, which aims for comprehensive understanding relating to the effects of medicine on the human body.
  • Acquire specialized knowledge as well as the skills and attitudes that serve as a foundation for occupational abilities as a pharmacist, such as methods for administering drugs and medicines, stability, action mechanisms, disposition, etc.
  • Nurture a rich humanity and accumulate human qualities to comprehend the suffering of patients and sanctity of life.
  • Cultivate appropriate problem-solving capacities in relation to medical malpractice, and safe and appropriate use of pharmaceuticals, which is considered as being important in protecting the health and welfare of the public.
