In Japan, a nation that prides itself on its scientific and technological achievements, society holds high expectations for science and technology universities in terms of both developing fundamental technologies and achieving educational excellence. The Tokyo University of Science bears a particularly important social obligation to conduct cutting-edge science and develop innovative technologies based on high-quality teaching and research activities. 130 years have passed since the University was founded based on the principle of a "foundation for the development of the nation through the advancement of science." Today, the Tokyo University of Science has 33 departments in 8 Undergraduate Schools, and 30 departments in 11 Graduate Schools. We are also home to numerous research institutes and facilities. In the years to come, the Tokyo University of Science will work tirelessly to uphold its continuing tradition of advancement and excellence.
