International Exchange

symposiumThe goals of international exchange programs are to advance mutual understanding and world peace through cultural exchange and the expansion of international human relationships, and to further academic development through educational and research exchanges. It also provides students with a wonderful opportunity to experience different cultures and develop an international sensibility. Experience gained in foreign countries while young inevitably translates into valuable assets later in life. In the 21st century, with the ever-accelerating pace of globalization, the importance of international exchanges at the university level continues to grow. At the Tokyo University of Science, the International Committee has been established for the purposes of developing policies and measures for enhancing opportunities for international exchange at the university and promoting various related activities, such as sending faculty members and students overseas and extending invitations to foreign researchers and students.

Exchange Program

The Tokyo University of Science has actively implemented exchanges of researchers and students through universities participating in the academic exchange agreement mentioned above, along with other collaborative programs such as symposia and seminars. Currently, the University is working towards increasing the number of such universities. The scope of mutual exchanges of researchers and students and collaborative programs will broaden as the number of universities participating in international exchange agreements increases.

Sending researchers to foreign countries and inviting foreign researchers

In addition to the researcher exchange program based on the academic exchange agreement mentioned above, the Tokyo University of Science has a system in place that is designed to provide support for the international exchange of researchers by implementing budgetary steps to send researchers to foreign countries and extend invitations to foreign researchers. With this system, many researchers are afforded the opportunity to visit the Tokyo University of Science from foreign universities, including those that are not party to an international exchange agreement, and to exchange the latest research results and other valuable information.
