A paper (Biological Chemistry, 2009, Vol. 390, No. 7, pp. 557-565) written by Professor Shuji Kojima et al. of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tokyo University of Science was introduced on the cover of Biological Chemistry. This research is a joint research project conducted with Professor Gabius of Ludwig Maximillans University in Germany that clarifies that binding activity with lectin, which recognizes sugar chains inside an organism, as well as various binding activities that occur subsequently based on introduction of N-Acetyl-Glucosamine and at the same time, the modification of N-glycan core, which is located in the center of glycoproteins, by fucose, are dynamic changes.
