International students must first obtain a ‘study abroad’ visa status. If your status is other than ‘study abroad’, such as admission to a school or short-term stay, please change your eligibility to ‘studying abroad’ as soon as possible. The procedures for the change are completed at the Immigration Bureau. Students who have not gained a ‘study abroad’ visa status will not have a chance to apply for assistance or scholarships targeted towards international students.
